Hurricane Fiona Disaster Relief for Puerto Rico
Today marks five years since Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and today I’m saddened to say history has repeated itself and for some, this storm has been far worse. We’ve created a list of non-governmental organizations, mainly local, grassroots organizations who are working directly with the communities in need.
At co.co.haus, (a coworking space with one of the largest and most diverse communities of local and international entrepreneurs), we created a vetted list of primarily LOCAL nonprofit organizations and foundations that have proven traction in helping their communities. We want to avoid people donating to organizations that have been created in the past where their promise was never fulfilled, and aid never reached the communities they promised to serve.
How you can help
Below is a list of nonprofit organizations that co.co.haus has directly worked with or are led by our members. Followed by a list of organizations our community has recommended. We will also include ways in which you can volunteer if you are already on the island. (These lists will be updated as new information comes in and we can confirm its vetting).
